This morning between 6:30 and 7:30 AM I saw an Eastern Kingbird at one of my
favorite dog walking spots. This site is now marked as Canyon Park Wetlands
in eBird and is off of 224th St SE in Bothell. This is the first time I
have seen an EasKin at this site and it was frequenting a prominent perch
on the top of some dead branches of a tree on the east side of the center
pond. I saw it mainly from the south side of the pond where it may be a
little far for great pictures. Also the rain has gone from an intermittent
little drizzle to a steady drizzle out this way so not the best day for
pictures. Other than the EasKin there were a few Bushtits, a Kingfisher, a
Cliff Swallow, singing Willow Flycatcher, and the usual suspects. Some
male Mallards are already in eclipse plumage. Happy rainy birding.
