Subject: [Tweeters] Bird sightings web site

I have put together a web site that shows recent bird sightings using eBird
data and Google maps:

http://birdingwashington.info/dashboard/

I think this web page is especially useful for people who may not use
eBird. It's easy to use and provides some information you can't get from
eBird's web site. You will be able to find out what notable birds are being
seen, what birds are being seen at particular locations and where a
particular species is being seen.

This has sightings for each state. You begin by choosing a state from the
list. You will then see a list of "notable" sightings - birds that are
unusual to the area or time of year. eBird determines which sightings are
notable.

You can then choose to see what has been reported at hotspots, or popular
birding areas, or look up recent sightings of a particular species.

You can also click anywhere on the map and see all recent reports within 10
km of that spot.

There is a "help" button which explains the site in more detail.

There are no advertisements on the website and I don't collect any personal
information. I guess I'm just looking for my 15 minutes of fame.

I am very interested in hearing about any problems you may encounter or any
ideas you have to improve it.

Thanks,

Randy Robinson
