Saturday here in Everett had Warm Wet Whimbrels. Today (6/19), cool wet Whimbrels. Just got back from the waterfront mudflats where, catching the tide right, got pretty close looks at 3 Whimbrels.

A big bright Purple Martin flew closely by as I was watching Whimbrels, despite the rain. They're around regularly here although numbers are down, presumably because of one cool wet spring after another here. I had hopes with our nice April and May this year, but now we have our especially damp June. Bummer.
