Nancy Alden, Rachel Lawson, and I were birding at Stillwater in the Carnation Valley this a.m. when we were surprised to see (and hear) a Northern Bobwhite on the trail, just parking-lot side of the 3rd bridge (Harris Creek.) Is Fish and Wildlife releasing bobwhite in this area? This one had no bands on the legs, but could have been an ?escapee,? we guess. Isn?t it the case that the only ?countable? bobwhites in WA are in the Ft. Lewis area?
