Your daily Everett Whimbrel Report. (6/22)

I guess I missed reporting yesterday although I did see one yesterday, and got to meet tweeter Louise Rutter who, with her scope saw a few more. Always interesting to actually meet a Tweet! While Louise did identify herself, she does have some quick diagnostic roadside field marks: a tall woman with a very short car.

Anyway I only saw one Whimbrel yesterday, and missed the later incoming tide. Yes, I only saw one Whimbrel, who in my mind as I was digging a ditch the rest of the afternoon, turned into " Juan Whimbrel". I decided to declare the channel between the shore and Jetty Island the "Straits of Juan de Whimbrel".

Today in the rain, about noon, I stopped off at the north turnout again, and saw 4 Whimbrel's pretty close in even though the tide was way out there. So that's 13 day's straight with Everett Whimbrels. Must be some good Whimbrel eatin' out there in our local mud.

So your chances are still pretty good to see a Whimbrel in Everett, if you wanna.
