Following up on Jeff Gibson's suggest I ventured out to the north end of
Marine View Dr. this morning and after a half hour of looking at least 10
Osprey2, a couple Purple Martin, half dozen Pintail, and a Wigeon, four
Whimbrels flew by around 9 AM. They were close enough to ID without
Binoculars but they did not land, at least while I was there. From there I
moved down to the boat ramps at the south side of the harbor. The best
birds here were a Spotted Sandpiper and a "flock" of 6 adult and 6 juvenile
Bald Eagle across the boat channel.

I decided to try the fishing pier at Mukilteo. Unfortunately there were
only Glaucous-winged Gulls and Rock Pigeons nearby but with my scope I found
1 distant Pigeon Guillemot. Not to be discouraged I walked down to the main
park and found one very close Pigeon Guillemot and on very distant alcid
through my scope. I walked further down the beach and what appeared to be
a different alcid flew in but still a little far for binoculars. After some
hide and seek diving I finally got it in the scope to confirm as a breeding
plumage Marbled Murrelet.

Not a bad morning as gray skies did not produce any rain. Also thanks to
Ann Marie Wood for originally finding the Whimbrels.
