All

our navigation system doesn't appear to match the current reality.

Stuart Johnson describes the spot perfectly.

"DeLorme does show Sixprong Rd. intersecting with Hale Rd. at a point where Sixprong Rd. makes a sharp 90 degree turn s. (if you were driving westbound on Sixprong Rd.) for < half a mile before turning 90 degrees again, going due w. from that point. In reality, that north-south stretch of road that DeLorme erroneously calls Hale Rd., a stretch of > 2.5 miles, is Sixprong Extension. I double-checked by consulting my official Klickitat Co. road map: DeLorme is wrong. (I have spent many hours in e. Klickitat Co. doing a 6 year breeding bird atlas for Klickitat Co.)

I'm guessing that your BTSP was 0.4 mi. e. of the intersection of Sixprong Extension with Sixprong Rd.; i.e., 0.4 mi. e. of the north-south jog of < 0.5 mi. in Sixprong Rd. "

After twitching the Kennewick Northern Parula this morning, Tina and I birded eastern Klickitat county. We found a single singing Black-Throated Sparrow on Six Prong Road about .4 miles east of Hale Road. It was singing from the tops of the sage brush next to the road.

Good birding,

Rick
