Subject: [Tweeters] Bald Eagle Attacking Osprey Yesterday

Hi Tweets,
Yesterday afternoon my husband and I were near Bradley Park, when I heard a
pathetic cry from an Osprey, I had never heard before. Turns out, just
above my head; an adult Bald Eagle was trying to grab the poor Osprey in
the air. The Osprey continued calling, and making a ruckus, (I would too!)
and as he circled higher and tighter, it made it more difficult for the
Bald Eagle to keep on his tail, literally. Then the Eagle was able to gain
momentum, and nearly hit the Osprey several times. Just as I thought I was
going to witness a murder, another Bald Eagle came from out of no-where and
attacked the other Bald Eagle. This allowed the Osprey to escape. (WHEW).
Eventually the Bald Eagles continued to battle and flew out of sight.

For a bit of good news, my youngest son, has asked me to give him
information on what bird books to buy, and how to get recordings of the
bird calls in the Boston area. He also wants binoculars. I told him to
contact the Boston Audubon, and see about classes and field trips. Seems
all those bird adventures I took him on, has paid off.
