hi all ... our backyard patio Bewick's Wren nest was occupied for a
2nd time ... and for the 2nd time I was lucky enough to see the
babies fledge !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... the first nesting fledged on May 12
... just days later we noticed the parents bringing more fluff into
the same nest (at the bottom of a rolled up grass mat) ... I was kind
of surprised it was that soon after the first lot left ... anyways,
yesterday morning I heard both parents chattering up a storm and had
an idea the little guys were going to fledge (they parents did that
the first time too --- perhaps encouraging the little ones to leave
???) ... I made it to the patio just after both babies (only 2 this
time, first nesting had 4) had already left the nest but they hadn't
yet left the patio ... after all these years of Bewick's nesting
around the house/patio, this year I managed to see both nestings
leave ... very enjoyable !!!!!
