Does anybody know if any studies have been done on facial recognition by Cooper's Hawks? Every time I now go on a daily walk in Ravenna Park, one of the Cooper's Hawks "swoops" and scolds me. Does it recognize me or does it just not like that I look at it's nest? Actually, even if I don't stop and look, it still "swoops". If I'm facing it, it does a high swing, but if my back is to it, I can feel the wind of it's wings. In other words, much closer. Quite exciting.

Feel free to email me off list.
