Subject: [Tweeters] GBH working on their UW campus colony

This morning as I was riding the bus in to work on the UW main campus, I
was startled to see around 15 Great Blue Herons flying overhead -- never
seen such a large group flying at once before. They were going towards
the trees around Rainier Vista, where their breeding colony from the past
few years has been located.

When I got off the bus (on Stevens Way, just across from the Chemistry
Building), I spied one GBH carrying a stick to those same trees.

Looks as if we'll have another fun year watching the colony. The trees
are located south of Drumheller fountain with Chemistry Bldg to the west
and Electrical Engineering to the right (see:
http://www.washington.edu/maps/).
