I don't know nor have heard of Harold Anderson, but mere mention of the
Varied Thrush and in the mere context of reading through this posting from
Robert, re-ignites my passion for making the Varied Thrush the official
Washington State bird, replacing the American Goldfinch, or some others
suggested (last year), Great Blue Heron being one (ugh!), when a change was
proposed and under some consideration at a legislative level, but kind of shot
down quickly amidst all the comically dismissive radio and other media pundit
quackery given the State's more urgent concerns with respect to budgets
and other issues. And rightly so I suppose given all other matters great and
small.

In the meantime, Varied Thrush is simply the "State of MY Yard" State Bird
of Eastgate. That's kind of a mouthful, but I've got no other options.
