I'm not very familiar with the area but I stopped at Damon point yesterday evening on my way back up the coast. It was almost dark by the time I got out the point and I didn't explore around out there for very long but I did see owls. I saw one perched atop a tree and watched him for a while. There was a lot if moonlight and I watched him hunting. It was very cool, he actually hovered looking down the way a kestrel does! He then went to a tree and perched looking down on the beach. Does anyone know exactly what they're hunting out there? I know up north they eat lemmings, but there's no lemmings on the wa beach! Anyways, then suddenly another owl came swooping in and displaced him from his perch. She (bigger and heavily barred) fought with him in the air for a while and then sent him flying off over the dark ocean, while she settled on his tree. Unfortunately it was too dark to get pictures of the action - that would've been awesome. I didn't see the eider people say has been there, but I didn't spend much time on the point either.
