A couple of housefinches came around my feeders in Federal Way last week-one
appears to have the symptoms of avian pox; the other a case of
conjunctivitis. The feeders all came down and are inside after cleaning and
disinfection and won't go up until a few weeks have passed. Along with the
report of infected finches in West Seattle, is it unusual for these
sightings, or is it relatively common to see these infections in the Puget
Sound area or at this time of year?
