I got very lucky this past week with some very active short-eared owls on
Fir Island, Skagit County. I was really intrigued by some photographs I got
of one owl with its ear tufts down and a few seconds later, with its ear
tufts up. The owl?s entire face changed when its ear tufts went up. Wow! I
put together an image showing both for comparison. It?s at:
