First Rufous Hummingbirds of the season at my feeders this evening, 6:53pm
(two), yea! This is way early for my yard, setting a new record arrival da
te at this location by 14 days since I've been keeping track for quite a
few years. RUHUs are always slower finding this place for some mysterious
reason when others have been seeing them for a week or two or three or more
before my first arrivals. Gotta top off ALL my feeders plus add an extra
(10 cups worth of 4:1) so hopefully that will keep 'em all happy 'til I get
back early next week. The evening Anna's rush was insane this evening just
before dark, more hummers than usual and busier than ever! So, between
the hummers and that 'shape-shifting owl' video this morning, it's been a
great day!
