I was watching a Heron fishing from a log on Lake Cortez in Wenatchee over the weekend. It grabbed what I thought was going to be a typical 4 to 6 inch fish but instead pulled out the largest blue gill I had ever seen. It was about 8 inches tall and proportionately long. It debated on how to swallow it for a few minutes then dunked it a couple times before surrendering and releasing it back in the water for me to catch at a later date.
