My wife and went for an evening walk in McDonald Park in Carnation and saw the following:? 4 Hooded Mergansers, 4 Wood Ducks, 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets, a Varied Thrush, a Downy Woodpecker, a Mountain Chickadee, Dark-eyed Juncos.? We also heard Canada Geese and saw two Bald Eagles and a large nest on the north side of Tolt Hill Road south of the park.? For those unfamiliar with the park, it is bounded on the south by the Tolt River and is split by the Snoqualmie River.? You can cross the Snoqualmie River on foot on a suspension bridge.? There is parking at the baseball fields in Carnation off highway 203 and trails from those fields into the park.? The dike between the Tolt River and the park was breached to re-create wetlands that existed in the past.
