Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday March 22. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

Strong storms during the week brought many RED PHALAROPES to the coast,
especially along the south coast. One was found March 18 inland near Alsea.
Small numbers of HORNED and TUFTED PUFFINS are still being found on the
beaches. A few BROWN PELICANS are still being reported along the coast.

On March 19 a HARRIS?S SPARROW and a female BULLOCK?S ORIOLE were at a
Brookings feeder. A gray phased GYRFALCON was seen March 17 at Brownsmead
east of Astoria.

The Sauvie Island HARRIS?S SPARROW and GOLDEN EAGLE continue to be seen. The
large flock of SNOW GEESE are still there. The Cook Road HARRIS?S SPARROW is
still coming to a Cornelius feeder. On March 21 a flock of 29 GREAT EGRETS
were near Ankeny NWR. A small flock of COWBIRDS was in Silverton March 16.
The GYRFALCON near Finley NWR is still being seen. A NORTHERN SHRIKE was at
Fern Ridge Reservoir March 17.

On March 16 a GREATER YELLOWLEGS and a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER were at the
Redmond Sewage Ponds. A HARRIS?S SPARROW was seen recently at Summer Lake.
On March 18 a pair of CINNAMON TEAL and four EURASIAN WIGEON were near
LaGrande. Also near LaGrande was a HARLAN?S HAWK and a very early CASPAIN
TERN March 21.

That?s it for this week.
