Today (3/24/12) there was one Caspian Tern roosting with gulls (Glaucous-winged, Olympic, and Mew) in Dungeness Bay. Of course one bird is hardly a trend, but this arrival is about a week earlier than the last few years. The first terns in Dungeness Bay are usually recorded during the last couple days of March or the first couple days of April.

I last saw the Dungeness Bay Emperor Geese two days ago (3/22/12), but did not see them at their usual haunts today. Have they flown the coop?
