Hi Tweeters

Jon and I did our quarterly run to the dump yesterday and decided to check
out Ediz Hook on the way home. We hadn't seen any Oystercatchers yet so
off we went Sat late am, early afternoon. We saw more birds yesterday than
we had seen in a long time. Most interesting was 6-7 adult Bald Eagles..one
sat on an upright piece of driftwood and we walked by him not more than 5
feet away and he just sat there looking at us---naturally we didn't have a
camera. We did see two Oystercatchers, 12 Sanderlings, a Black Turnstone, 2
Black Bellied Plovers one molting into breeding plumage and one that hadn't
started. We got looks a many Harlequin's, Buffleheads, Surf Scoters, Pigeon
Guillemonts, Widgeons, several Common Loons.one moliting into breeding
plumage and one had not started. Alas we didn't have the scope so could
check out many of the birds that were too far out. All in all a good side
trip.
