Hi, all.
Yesterday morning I saw tree swallows for the first time this year, very active around a snag where a male flicker was excavating while his female companion rested about six feet above on a branch. The flickers did not mind my presence at all and only left after about 20 mins--when another flicker came zooming by in very noisy fashion.
Also saw: male and female ring-necked duck, yellow-rumped warblers in willows, lot of goldfinch, and the to-be-expected waterfowl and passerines. No raptors.
Heard but not seen: killdeer in dime lot and just north of playing field where construction is taking place on western side of Canal Rd.
