We took a three day weekend thinking, with a bit warmer temperatures on the coast, spring migratory birds would be more evident than at Sequim. It was not to be so. Even though shrub leaves, early flowers, and insect abundance were further along than at home, shorebirds were very quiet ( 2 Black Oystercatchers and a single Dunlin) oceanic species were not present in numbers (except 400 or so Common Murres) and passerine migration was notably inconspicuous, even in very suitable habitat.

It was very nice though, a bit windy with showers, and one had the impression that migration trickles could start en force at any time.
