Hi Tweeters,

After Jeff called me out early this afternoon to see the LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE
-short unhooked bill, sharp contrast between dark gray back and much
lighter underparts- along Weber Ave. in Longview's Mint Farm, I continued
birding and found a couple other notable birds.

Mixed in with the more common gulls along Caples Road in the Woodland
Bottoms I found two THAYER'S GULLS near last fall's Rusty Blackbird spot
and a GLAUCOUS GULL at the intersection with Dike Road. There were massive
numbers of MEW GULLS and a suprising number of CALIFORNIA GULLS which seem
to be lacking here most springs. Also present were RING-BILLED and
GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLS as well as hybrids.

I also found a EARED GREBE at the flushing channel along Dike Road.

FOY for Cowlitz today in various places were CINNAMON TEAL and SAVANNAH
SPARROW by me and Jeff called to say he'd seen a CASPIAN TERN.
