Hello,

I decided to head north into Pend Oreille and Stevens Counties not
expecting much with the forecast of wind and rainm but it turned out to be
a pretty good day in spite of the weather.

My day started along Allen Rd in the very southern edge of Pend Oreille
County. In the wet fields along Allen Rd were four Tundra Swans and 2
EURASIAN WIGEON, one a hybrid. Also along Kirkpatrick Rd were my FOS Turkey
Vultures, Savannah Sparrow, and Brewer's Blackbird. Red Crossbills were
nearby as well.

On the River Rd at the Kalispell Indian Reservation was a MERLIN and a
Townsend's Solitaire.

The meadows north of Cusick bordered by Hwy 20 and Westside - Calispell Rd
were flooded and some of the roads were impassible, but waterfowl were
everywhere. There were three SNOW GEESE at the Rocky M Ranch along Hwy 20
and 200 Tundra Swans. A large flock of 150 Mountain Bluebirds were along
Kirchan Rd. A GOLDEN EAGLE sailed overhead. Bald Eagles were everywhere.

At a house along McKenzie Rd, there were still four COMMON REDPOLLS at the
feeder. There have been redpolls here all winter. There were about 3,000
Tundra Swans on Calispell Lake and two EURASIAN WIGEON. Northern Harriers
were back patrolling the marsh.

In the afternoon, I crossed over into Stevens County by way of Flowery
Trail Rd. Along Cottonwood Creek Rd south of Chewelah were five SNOW GEESE.
There were 100 Tundra Swans and 5 N Rough Legged Hawks along Newton Rd. The
Valley STP hosted 6 Barrow's Goldeneyes and an adult Herring Gull was among
the Californias and Ring bills on Waitt's Lake Rd.

My final spot for the day was Betteridge Rd. There is always something good
along this road. Today, I fouund a Savannah Sparrow, Mountain Bluebirds,
Say's Phoebe, Tree and Violet Green Swallows, and a EURASIAN WIGEON.
