Mark the date and come to Leavenworth the weekend of May 17-20th for our
10th Annual Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest! We feature 40 field trips led by
experts in the field into all kinds of habitat to seek a variety of birds.
Many trips also feature a botanist, since this will be near the peak of
wildflower season. You can learn about the plants that make up the habitats
where the birds are found.

Special guests are Keynote: Dr. David Craig from Willamette University, Ed
Newbold-guest artist from Seattle whose artwork is on the popular Washington
Birding Trails maps, and Dr. Thor Hanson-conservation biologist and author
of FEATHERS: THE EVOLUTION OF A NATURAL MIRACLE. Live raptors from Sarvey
Wildlife Center are featured guests, as well.

We have something for everyone, from beginning birders to experts. Saturday
is kids' day with craft activities and ultra-beginning birding activity. We
have a strong Latino connection, as well, celebrating the birds that migrate
from Mexico, Central, and South America. Come one, come all! Concert and art
shows, too. The programs have just come off the press and will be
distributed throughout the NW in a week or so. The website is all updated
and ready for you to start planning your birding weekend.
