Subject: [Tweeters] RT Hawk with Patagial (wing) tag in Anacortes

Hi Tweeters,

I just observed a Red-tailed Hawk with a large light blue patagial
(wing) tag on the left wing marked with "10." The tag was yellow at the
top. This is in Anacortes, at D Avenue and 28th St., about 4:30 PM
5/1/12. The hawk was perched on a utility line, being harassed by a
crow, but holding its ground. It allowed me to approach fairly close,
close enough to read the number.

I tried WDFW, who gave me a USFW #, who gave me a # for nonbanded
markings: 301-497-5969.

I called and got a "mailbox full" message.

Soooo -- I'm just reporting, in hope that *someone* out there is
interested or has another suggestion for reporting this. Please email me
directly; I don't get Tweeter emails and don't check the list very often.

Thanks,
Kristi Hein

Anacortes
