Hi, Birders, I just wanted to thank those who sent me sightings from
earlier in April. We ended up with an all-time high at the end of April
of 177 species.

The Clark's Grebe I saw at Barker Canyon boat launch on April 29th was a
life bird for me. Two people tried for it Monday, but it was very windy
and they were not successful. I don't recall anyone posting sightings of
Clark's Grebes on Banks Lake before, but I may be wrong. Anyone know of
others?

The Lazuli Bunting was/is a very early sighting for me, and it has been at
my feeder for 6 days now; a most unusual feeder bird! Wish I had a
camera, as it is a beautiful bird.

Can I squeeze in one more sighting/question? Today at someone's feeder we
saw a Cassins' Finch (male) with no red/pink anywhere, but a yellow
crown! Almost as bright as a Goldfinch. I've never heard of this in a
Cassins. Anyone else? Thanks, have great month of birding. Meredith
