I stopped at the Redondo boardwalk in King County for my lunch break. I was
immediately surprised to see about 1000 Western Grebes right up in the
shallow water by the boardwalk. I figured it was a great time to check for
a Clark's and I quickly found a likely candidate. It was the only one with
an orange-ish bill, all the rest had grayish yellow bills. It also had the
white above the eye and lighter flanks. I did get several pictures, and
though I wasn't sure at the time, after looking at the photos, I'm fairly
confident. The grebes didn't seem to like the attention and they all moved
out a few hundred feet, but maybe they will stay in the area.
