It's been a pretty quiet spring at NSCC for quantities of birds, but the variety has been good.

In the last week some of our favorites:

wood ducks, several pairs
ring neck duck
green winged teal
northern shoveller
spotted towhee
buffleheads
red winged blackbird
mallards with two juvenile deliquents
gadwall
bushtits
Anna Hummer
flicker
and red tailed hawk
et al.

There's no major construction in the area so it will
be interesting to see if more birds come back this year,
especially the swallows and flycatchers.
