John English and I?did our annual pilgrimage to where-the-birds-are this past week; this time to Southern California.? Specifically we went to Santa Cruz Island, the San Berdardino? "Mountains", Salton Sea, Anza-Borrego Desert, Mt. Palomar and the coast near Oceanside.? Nine days of birding in the sunshine, and 163 species.? Fun trip!? 7 new life birds.? New tan.? !
