For one of the first times, I was ready to send this out on the first. However, my email hasn't worked since then and no one seems to want to, or know how to, fix it. So . . . this is late, as usual, plus

Following are the turkey vulture reports for Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia for April 2012. These handsome birds are back on schedule and some should be nesting by now.

05 -- 1 over the mansion at Marymoor Park
06 -- 1 over Meridian HS north of Bellingham; 1 at Lincoln
07 -- 3 at the east end of Riffe Lake; more along Peters Road ponds; 6 flying over the Ilwaco parking lot; 2 south of the Bay Center turn-off; 5-6 kettling over the Satsop River west of Montasano; 1 over
Troutdale, Oregon;
08 -- 2 near Drayton Harbor; several at Neah Bay; 2 near the Teanaway/Yakima Rivers junction with 20 sitting in trees at the same spot; 1 north of Spencer Island
09 -- 1 at Brunswick Point, Delta, BC
10 -- 1 at Maplewood CA, North Vancouver, BC
12 -- 2 over West Beach on Whidbey
14 -- 1 flying south along the Edmonds waterfront; 1 circling over Squamish Harbor; "?" in the shrub-steppe; 7 flying over Camas; "many many" off Port Stanley Road in San Juan County; 2 over South Cle Elum;
2 standing in a field w/wings outstretched while 9 circled overhead near Cusick, Pend Oreille County; 2 east of Cle Elum; 1 west of Cle Elum; 1 2 miles west of Ellensburg
15 -- 5 kettling w/redtails at Fort Worden SP; 2 at Ridgefield NWR; 1 over Barnaby Slough east of Rockport
17 -- 6 over MP70
19 -- 4 at Sleeping Lady, Leavenworth
20 -- "?"at Bridgeport Bar; 1 at Lake Joy
21 -- 1 at Naches/US-12; 1 soaring above hills along Hwy 203; 2 at MP9, 1 at MP105, south Aberdeen
22 -- 4 near Icicle Ridge; 6 over the Leavenworth river-front
23 -- 1 on a fence in Snohomish
26 -- 1 over Issaquah Creek
28 -- 1 at MP14/Hwy8, west of Olympia; 6 On the mud flats at Deer Harbor; 1 north of Vancouver; 3 in the Wilsonville, Oregon, area; 1 near Shedd, 2 in south Albany, and 1 near Junction City, all in Oregon
