Ellen, myself, and Dan Waggoner observed 500 Brown Pelicans from the east
observation deck at Westport in the morning on 5 May. Most were packed on
the jetty at the entrance to the boat docks. Quite a few were flying abou
the bay, too.

Our count seconds the observation of 500 by Marcus Roening at Pt. Grenville
7 May, making it clear a huge movement of Brown Pelicans has arrived in
Washington at an exceptionally early date this year.
