In case anyone else is trying to find access to Bill's Spit, we did find the trail off the cul-de-sac at the end of Peninsula Court. It's on your left as you enter the cul-de-sac, between 2 rows of evergreens. There is a small drop-off to the beach at the end of the trail, but another trail branches left. If you follow it, there are a couple of logs which can be used to get down to the beach. There is parking in front of the trail and probably in front of the vacant lot across the street. Someone also suggested to us that you could park at the interpretive center and walk, although it would be maybe a 3/4 mile walk but on paved level roads. There were lots of shorebirds there when we visited, although we also saw many at Bowerman Basin and along the oceanfront, too. But, alas, only 2 pelicans.
