hi all ... the babies in our nest-on-patio Bewick's Wrens are
learning to fly and 3 of the 4 babies are doing pretty good ...
however one youngster needs some more practice ... as I was watching
them leave their hiding place in the rolled up ground mat this
morning one youngster gave a loud cheep, fluttered his wings, took
off, and then about 2 feet from his starting point he just fell out
of the sky ... he landed in our BIG yard debris trash can ... and
then he was stuck as he didn't have enough power to get out of the
trash can ... we had to move some boxes and garden tools, etc., but
we lugged the trash can out and tipped it over so he could go join
his family ... ah, the perils of raising kids ...
