On Saturday, my husband and I hiked up Robinson Canyon with some friends. Pretty quiet along the stream---highlights included several Nashville Warblers, a Wilson's Warbler, two Western Tanagers, and two Bullock's Orioles. We also hiked up the ridge to the North of the stream. About halfway up, we spotted a lovely Lark Sparrow, perched up and singing for all he was worth.

We also saw two rattlesnakes on the stream trail and a third on the ridge trail.

On another note, we had a new yard bird this week, a female Red Crossbill! This morning brought our FOY Black-headed Grosbeaks.
