Tweeters,

I was able to find a reported Lazuli Bunting this morning singing on territory in North Stanwood. Then proceeded to Eide Rd. to see if the Wilson's Phalaropes were still around from yesterday. At least 6 of them were. Also of interest were 7 Yellow-headed blackbirds working the same marshy area in the field as the Phalaropes. Then out to Camano Island where I had my first of year Western Tanager at Utsalady Pt. and scoped 21 Whimbrels on the beach at English Boom. There were a dozen Purple Martin as well at English Boom at the traditional nesting houses. Iverson Spit was slow, but found Orange-crowned Warblers and Black-headed Grosbeak. Then back into Stanwood to check Norman Road area. I was able to re-locate at least 227 Whimbrel foraging in the field along Olson Road again. Today however they were on the north side of the tracks. Also, on Stubb Road, just one road east of Olson, were 2 Wilson's Phalaropes and a Lesser Yellowlegs foraging in a seasonal pond. I had no success in relocating a reported Eastern Kingbird off Olson.
