Tale 1 occurred on Mother's Day, but really had nothing to do with Mother's Day.? My son was fishing off a dock on Beaver Lake, Sammamish.? He hooked a fish and stood up to reel it in.? The fish was putting up a fight and jumping out of the water.? From behind my son came a Bald Eagle.? It grabbed the fish and took off.? Given that the fish was only about 20 feet off the dock the eagle must have come pretty close to my son.? The eagle flew with the fish out into the lake.? The line was screaming off the reel.? Finally my son decided to stop the line so that it would break.? It did, fortunately close to the eagle so there wasn't a lot of loose line involved.
?
Tale 2 is truly a Mother's Day tale although it occurred 2 days prior to Mother's Day.? My tweetheart of a daughter took my wife birding for Mother's Day followed by lunch at Bastyr University.? (You don't have to be associated with the University to dine there.)? I got to go along also.? The birding was at Swamp Creek Park.? We discovered that the 23 years that our daughter has on us resulted in her seeing and hearing birds that we didn't know were present.? It was her first birding experience.? We think that she is hooked.? I am asking for?a similar?experience for Father's Day.
