Discovery Park was quite birdy today, despite a constant but light
breeze blowing the entire time I was there. Being a Monday the human
traffic was much lower than over the weekend making for a pleasant
time in the park. There were a few WESTERN GREBES and BRANT still
lingering in the area not far from the Westpoint Lighthouse.
About 1/4 mile along the paved road from the Visitor's Center
traveling toward the North Parking Lot there was a WESTERN TANAGER
calling from the top of one of the conifers; I also located a
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK in a small marsh area (Utah Pond), not to far
from some government housing . I had a total of 46 species; some
additional highlights included:

Osprey
Cooper's Hawk
Rhinocerous Auklet
Hutton's Vireo
Warbling Vireo
Swainson's Thrush
Mew Gull
