Monday evening?(5/14) I saw the Virginia rail?around the same time (8:00pm) and in the same location (large mud flat) as I did the day before. I hope this is a pattern which will make the Phanton of the Marsh easier to spot and photograph.???

For anyone?wanting to look for it, I recommend starting at the main viewing platform (platform #3)?and looking for it with binos, a spotting?scope, or (my favorite) a big honkin' lens in the large mud flat south of the platform between 7:30pm and sunset.???If you get restless,?alternate between?the main and west (platform #1) viewing platforms.?? While you are at the main viewing platform, keep an eye on the trees along the paved walkway to the east?as that is where warblers have been?spotted recently.
