Tweeter community,

I'm seeking birders and naturalist types interested in mentoring
students in an afternoon of field observations in Belfair (near Theler
trail system) on May 31 (Thur.) and June 1 (Fri.)

The Pacific Northwest Salmon Center, the Olympic Education Service
District and the Pacific Education Institute are collaborating to host
200+ students during a West Sound GreenSTEM Summit Event on each of
those two days.

The GreenSTEM Program is reaching school districts around Puget Sound
and supporting their efforts in local projects. The West Sound
GreenSTEM Summit 2012 has expanded to include 14 schools from 10 school
districts. See the West Sound GreenSTEM website for more information
www.westsoundgreenstem.net

The afternoon of each day is dedicated to exploring the 40+ acres of the
Pacific Northwest Salmon Center and recording observations of birds,
mammals, reptiles, amphibians and their associated habitats. I'm
looking for 20+ mentors for each day. Mentors will have groups of four
students. Training is provided on logistics and the use of data sheets.
The mentoring portion of the program will start at noon and end by 3:00
each day.

If you are interested and willing to contribute your passion to one or
both of these events, please contact me at dan at hcseg.org
