Friday I paid a visit to Chase?Lake, located in an unincorporated portion of Snohomish County?on 84th Ave. W. just south of 220th St. SW, which is the Edmonds city limit.? The lake itself is on the west side of 84th Ave.?? It is?not accessible other than?a view?from the sidewalk of the 84th Ave. bridge over the lake's runoff into the retention pond?on the east side of 84th Ave., where the park is located.???
?
There is a small parking lot at the north end of the park.? I was presently suprised at how much maintenance has been done?to the park since I?visited it last year.? The dock/viewing platform?on the north end of the retention pond?and the boardwalk on the west side of the pond have both been repaired and are open. ? The grass has been cut and?growth?has been removed or thinned so that the?pond is visible from?most parts of the park .?
?
I saw the resident turtles and a few mallards in the pond.?? Something?was upsetting the robins and crows in the trees on the east side of the pond while?I was there.?? I never saw what it was?while I was walking through the wooded area, but I suspect it was the sharp-shinned or Cooper's hawk I got a glimpse of as it flew over me while I was walking back to my pickup.
