Hello Tweeters,
I went today again to Bottle Beach not for the Ruff alone,but see if this
big Group of Red Knot's. I could find any bands on there legs.Since this
bird are so declining,many where banded according to Joe Buchanan who is
high on the rank when it comes to SHOREBIRDS making the study.He also keep
track on all the area from Kennedy Creek to the Ocean.
THERE WHERE QUITE FEW BIRDERS LOOKING FOR THE RUFF today. but There where
few Shorebirds to see the most where 30 Red Knot's few Dowitcher and
Dunlin,with other words the Beach locked deserted .When I CAME AT 4.00 PM
THE TIDE WAS OUT QUITE WAYS ,BUT THE AMOUNT OF BIRDS STILL WAS SMALL .I saw
2 Whimbrel together feeding on the upper beach.
I was so lucky that I have so many photos of this plumage of this bird
,what we usual not seeing here in Washington.Dennis Paulson the AUTHOR OF
TWO GREAT SHOREBIRD BOOKS,mention that this birds breed s across Eurasia
from Western Europe to far eastern Siberia (at high and moderate
latitude.When we was there on Thursday this bird stayed only with the group
of Red Knot's,
