Very interesting, Jean. I should have added that I saw the female in our yard again on May 18, then we left for Arizona. Does an unrecorded bird occur?

I have seen a single male Varied Thrush, in our yard in the Magnolia
neighborhood in Seattle, several times in the last couple of months or
so. The latest sighting was today. It was foraging on the ground
near our feeders and then disappeared under our holly hedge.
