Thanks to everyone who had suggestions for South Carolina.

This last Friday and Saturday we have a brief time to bird the
Potholes and related areas. Not a lot of birds, but a nice selection
on Friday.
Highlights for us:

Ellensberg river trail:
bald eagle
blackheaded grosbeak
warbling vireo
western peewee
lots of yellow warblers

George area, frontage road, particularly the sewage ponds near the rest stop:
nesting night herons
yellowheaded blackbirds
cliff, northern roughwinged, barn swallows
red head duck
ring neck duck
cinnamon teal
blacknecked stilt
greater scaup
western tanager
meadowlark
pectoral sandpiper
phalarope
shovellers
spotted sandpiper
avocet
dc cormorant rising from the river like a great prehistoric creature was quite impressive

Dodson road, now 60 mph improved (NOT!):
horned owl
great egrets
forster's tern

Potholes:
western grebe
downy woodpecker
cedar waxwing
western kingbird
northern oriole
vg swallow
red breasted nuthatch
catbird

Wenatchee Confluence Park and Natural area (highly recommended at the right time of year):
yellowthroat
muskrat, technically not a bird, but a very happy muskrat

plus the usual assortment of regular birds.
