Subject: [Tweeters] Ibis at Columbia NWR today

I'm forwarding this note from Gordon Warrick, biologist at Columbia NWR, who
is not subscribed. This is a traditional location during some of the ibis
irruption years. He had seen one on May 10 as well, possibly the same bird
although we did not see it on May 11 or 12.

ibis

I and two other refuge personel saw a white-faced ibis (mature breeding
plumage) on Columbia NWR this Friday afternoon. It was alone in Marsh Unit
2, Pond 3. Go N out of Othello on McManamon Road about 5 miles, turn N onto
Morgan Lake Road, go about 3 or 4 miles to the Frog Lake Trailhead and
parking area. Go east down the trail and cross Crab Creek on the dam. Turn S
on the road/trail after you cross the creek. Go south counting ponds as you
go. The first one on your left is 1. The bird was on 3, on the E side of the
pond. Good luck.
