Hi Tweets,
Just received a call from Eric Slagle, Dennis Ellison spotted an American Avocet at Nisqually this morning off the new dike Nisqually Estuary Trail. This morning I thought I had Long-billed Curlew fly over my house with a distinctive upward "cooli" whistle at Browns Point, Tacoma. There's also a rare bird eBird report of Long-billed Curlew at Nisqually as well. Last Wednesday Matt Kizer and I thought we may have seen a LBCU mixed in with some Whimbrel at a distance on scoping, plain face and warm cinnamon buff, but could not relocate/confirm. I don't know... call me curlew happy, but enjoy the great sightings at Nisqually.
Good birding,
Shep
