Hello Tweeters,
I had intention going to WENAS ,Audubon Camp Out.I decided other wise,since
I still been affected with an Allergy do to pollen by heavy breading. I took
a late start to the Ocean.High tide was at 5.32 PM with a ft at 7.1.
I Started at Bottle Beach at 3.30 PM to be save.The beach was completely
deserted,all what I had was 32 Caspian Terns.But checking the other side
Thurs. Westport it seems that there was long line with Shorebirds.it was
past the Cost Guard Station.I remembered the SPIT WHAT RUNS BEHIND THE COOL
STORAGE FACILITY,this to the end of the jetty.I don't ever seeing so many
Brown Pelican,body on body few thousand birds.It is a long walk to the end
of the Spit,where I only encountered 18 Long-billed Curlew with 25 Dunlin
and few Dowitcher.So this was not the spot what I saw from Bottle Beach.So
back to Bottle Beach since the tide was already getting high ,and the only
Shorebirds where on the left site thurs the bridge,There where a small
group of Shorebirds like 10 Black-bellied Plover around 18 Dunlin and few
peeps What flying off direction Ocean Shores,It was over all together.
I had enough time to hit Brady Loop RD.all the fields was plowed ,there was
no DUCKS AND NO WATER I saw a group of 20 American Pipit's in the fresh
plowed fields and a lot of Swallows every where.I saw one pond looking from
Brady site what the property belongs to Ducks Unlimited.I drove to Foster
ROAD TO GET CLOSER TO THE LARGE GROUP OF SHOREBIRDS,THERE WAS ALL
WHIMBREL'S. I, COUNTED AROUND 125 BIRDS,some on the edge of the pond and the
big group in tall Grass.
I checked out Satsop where I HAD A PEREGRINE Falcon catching a pray.
there was a lot of people around the pond.
I was happy what I SAW with such late start.Lot's of Parole getting many
ticket's for speeding!!!!!
