Hi Tweeters,
There wasn't too much activity by the time I dragged myself out of bed for a mid- to late-morning stroll around Magnuson Park and the Montlake Fill. ?But my local patches usually offer up a couple of things I wasn't completely expecting. ?This morning, that included:
- a Harbor Seal from the Magnuson Park swim beach (I've heard of them being in fresh water before, but this was the furthest I've seen one from salt water)
- single male Blue-winged and Cinnamon Teals at the Fill's main pond, and a flyover Green Heron at midday
- by far my highest Fill count of California Gull - there was a mixed age range of what appeared to be a pure group of California Gulls out on the lake - in 1 scope scan, I came up with a minimum count of 76.
- I concentrated on looking for Black Swift and California Quail at the Fill, but no luck today (I've yet to add either of these species to my personal site list)

Good birding (and mammal-ing),
