This is a partial list of birds that I saw or heard from my lawn chair at my campsite this weekend at the Wenas Campout. As usual, we had a great time.
Plans are under way for next year which will be the 50th year that the campout has been held. 50 years of like-minded people coming together to enjoy birds and nature. If you have never been or have not been for a while, put in the back of your mind that next year will be a good time to be at Wenas Creek. The campout is a place where you can strike up a conversation with anyone by simply saying, "what have you seen?" You can stand and look up in to space and no one will think you are weird, in fact you probably will attract a crowd wondering what you are looking at.
The scenery is beautiful, the birds are great but the people who share the same love of birds and nature, is what I enjoy the most.
